NAPLAN Workshops

The National Assessment Program for Language and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is an annual test targeted to students in Year 3, 5, 7 and 9. The test assesses skills in relation to reading, writing, spelling, grammar, punctuation and numeracy, providing an overall national snapshot of performance (ACARA, 2016).

Students are required to sit the following exams:

  • Numeracy (calculator)                         Year 7 & 9
  • Numeracy (non-calculator)                 Year 3, 5, 7, 9
  • Reading                                                   Year 3, 5, 7, 9
  • Writing                                                    Year 3, 5, 7, 9
  • Language Conventions                         Year 3, 5, 7, 9

HOW DO WE HELP?

Our workshops aim to put our students’ minds at ease about what to expect when sitting their NAPLAN exams. Students are exposed to the structure of each test, which helps to build confidence and eliminate uncertainty. Students are also able to practice working under exam conditions (e.g. with other students in the room, under a time restraint, etc).
